Adding length to a Jordan Brake Controller Cable?

Hey folks,

I just traded in my 94 and had removed EVERYTHING off it including the Jordan. My question is, can I just run to a bike shop an get a shifter/brake cable & sleeve to replace the one on my Jordan? I was going to call, but his hours aren't very military+Mountain Standard Time friendly

Any suggestions or homebrews would be great. I'm looking to get this in this weekend.
