Camparison Test? Really?

I saw a link to a towing test "compariosn" of the big three on IRV2. Here's the link and here's a copy of my post.

Love the competition between companies. It helps all of us no matter what truck brand we own.

I guess I don't read so well with understanding in my old age. I thought the tests were of the three brands with as equal a setup as possible for a particular size.

I found the comparison graphs interesting or least the labels beneath the graphs. The vehicle sizes beneath a given comparison graph did not appear to be always the same(ie, F250 Vs 3500 or F350 vs 2500). I don't know if using different size vehicles would make a difference. But if they weren't the same, seems it would be an apples and eggs comparison. Seems odd that the so many charts would have a typo error and in different ways.

It would have been interesting to know what the rear end gear ratio for each of the test vehicles, too. I think we all agree that would impact the tests.

I wouldn't say the test data might be suspect but maybe just a little "peculiar". Being in the engineering field, I'm supposed to pay attention to the details. As I said, guess I just don't know how to read with understanding anymore.

Just a thought
