Last week I worked on a customer's '96 F-350 Flowerpoke to fix trailer wiring that whoever built the flatbed did not hook up right. She wanted her interior horse trailer lights to work so I hooked up the missing wire into the power auxiliary sockets and also put the brake wire in the correct location. She would like to be able to run the lights for maybe an hour or so at a time but this requires the key be in the run position for the power+ wire on the truck to light up. Is this OK to leave the key on this long with the glow plugs cycling and all or do they stop cycling after a while? I just wonder what others are doing about this. She would like it to be set up like her friend who I guess drives a Dodge and this power+ wire is hot all the time on the Dodges. Would a person have to install a battery in the trailer and then run the lights from that or what? Any thoughts?
