What kind of bed mat to buy?

Well,I've been looking at some bed mats lately to go underneath my camper to both raise it up a bit and soften some of the shock loads since I go offroad quite a bit lately.What are some of you guys putting underneath your campers?I like the 3/4 in. rubber mats but they're kinda pricey and heavy.Anybody putting anything lighter like a closed cell foam pad?
