Buddy's SuperDuty can't handle Slide-in (how 'bout a 2nd Gen?)

A friend of mine has a Lance (I think) slidein camper that has a slideout and the whole setup weighs like 4000lbs in its "ready to go" state.

Currently he has a '95 SuperDuty SRW that is having issues dealing with the weight. He put on the best tires he could find, airbags, etc. and it still sags in the rear, rides rough and isn't as stable as he'd like.

So now he's thinking about ditching it in favor of a '95-'97 Dodge Cummins dually. But before I tell him to run out and buy one I want to make sure he's not going to have weight and spring issues he won't be able to resolve, at least without having to spend a lot of money. What do you guys think and how heavy are your slideins?

He wants to get an Auto tranny and I suggested the 4.10 gears since he may tow a boat part of the time and isn't planning on using the truck light very often.

Thanks for your input.
