Tip Out Types - mechanical????

OK - I somewhat know that they use to use hydrauic and other methods - but if you are looking for a late model used trailer - have the manufactures settled on a single type? I guess what I want to know - do some of the trailer manufactures use the "Cummins" type and other's use the "Powerstroke/Duramax" if you get what I'm asking.....
