fuel leak top of tank small metal elbows rot

Just looked under tk and saw 6 inch puddle.Did some looking and found the 2 metal elbows that come out of the top about 2" long and go to the plastic lines are rotted and leaking.I assume its the return one cause it starts and runs fine but both are rotted bad.Can i remove them and replace with rubber in tank and seal up at opening with some goop
