Dead ecm

Hello to the smoking section ! My 01 went into limp mode and I had the local Dodge dealer test it and they are saying the ecm is burned up. Thats a cool $1300. Is this a common problem and is there a cheaper alternative ? I had put a TST box on it and a new lift pump but the engine light would come on and now she`s crippled . I called TST and they said they`ve never known a fuel box to ruin an ecm. I need to deal with it tommorrow . Any help ??
