Fuel Tank Suction Hose Connection!!!!

I am in the middle of replacinng the fuel tank level sending unit and I cannot get the supply hose connection off. I am pushing the retaining tabs in and pulling on the hose but it wont release. When I push the connection back on I can hear the tabs click back in. Any ideas, gotta have the truck back up today for work tomorrow.
