New vp44 and quit at 30 miles

Just replaced the vp on our 01, also replaced the lp w/ a fass 95gallon. Got it started abd ran great for about 30 miles then when I mashed on it. the motor acted like it was starving for fuel. I tried it a second time and it died, and had to be towed home. I have a large amount of fuel at the pump inlet ( no pressure gauge right now ) . motor cranks but very little fuel comes out of the lines. The pump was purchased from one of the suppliers here on TDR. They contacted me and they were helpful on the phone. I'm not mad at the supplier, they said that they would help me out. My problem is either the pump was not a good rebuild or something electrical. BTW i have a power max 3 hooked to the pump wire. They told me the scotch lock could be causing too much resistance due to cutting too many wire strands, i dunno. I want to give this supplier the bennifit of the doubt and make sure to test the electrical before I yank it off and tell them I need another one. What I need to know is what wires do what on the vp pump so I can be assured the problem is internal. My 12v was acting up this morning so I can't have 2 trucks down, any help is appreciated. Thanks in advance
