Steering stabilizer

I'm trying to get the stock Steering stabilizer off and I can't figure out if it's pressed in or screwed in on the rod, as I do not want to beat on this thing without knowing. I looked for a notch to undo it from the rod and it seams perfectly round, any idea's. I thought about an air hammer but I want to make sure first. Thanks, Jack.
