Need A Vp44 Pump

Ok, so I have a 99 that cut off and won't start. Had the P1693 code before it cut off and now have the P1688. After reading all the great info in the forum conversations I am convinced I need a VP44 and lift pump. I need to get back on the road soon and was wondering who makes the best quality/affordable VP44 as far as your experiences. A few folks have mentioned "INDUSTRIAL INJECTION" brand, so I checked it out online. Good price, anyone have any opinions?

Also found a borrowed snap-on MT2500 scanner irritating, as when my check eng. light came on a while back it originally told me P1693 was a bad battery temp sensor. (wish I had checked out the forum sooner) Do you all get this sort of thing with other scanners also? Thought about a different/more affordable alternative, but seems only snap-on/mac and other expensive scanners do trans stuff. Thought about getting software for my laptop, but have a APPLE, which is the greatest for video editing and such, but likely hard to find scanner software for it. What scanners do you all recommend?

NATE THE SKATE: 99 with everything stock so far, except bigger wheels by previous owner.
