P 0523, P 1693
Pulling out of Target tonight got a check engine light and looked up to see oil pressure down at 0. Stopped truck, got out and plenty of Amsoil in the system. Went back and turned the key to where the instruments light up, and pressure came up, but was on the maximum side of the white line. Fired it up, pressure high, but still good. Backed it up about 30 feet back into the parking lot and pressure had dropped back down to 0 again. Turned it off, and brought the key back to get the intruments to light up, pressure came up. I did not start it, waited about 10 seconds and pressure drops back down to 0. Ran the ignition 3 times to see what codes pop up. Got 2 codes:
P 1693 ( DTC detected in ECM or PCM, dont know what that means), and P 0523 (Oil Pressure voltage too high). I got those codes off this site, so I assume they are right. Question is, what do I do now? Is this an easy fix, or does it need to go to Mike at Hot Rod Diesels in Houston? By the way, trucks a 01.5 2500 with 75k on it. If you need any more info, just ask. I'll be manning the computer tonight. Thanks for the help guys.
