'06 w/G56 won't crank

This morning this situation happened for the second time.

Truck spends the nights in a 50 degree garage. Went to start it this morning. Clutch in (all the way, no floor mat under the pedal), turn key, just a few seconds of grid heater symbol- then it goes off, turn the key to start, and...NOTHING.

Have full voltage- batteries are good, connections are tight.

This happened one other time. No crank in the morning, but my wife tried it at noon and it started just fine.

I figure that I will have to call the dealer, if it is an occasional intermittant problem, they probably will not find it and I would like to know what to look at if I wake up 300 miles from home and it does this again.

Would a hand held scanner (Actron 9135) show anything if I used it when I turn the key to start?

I suspect the clutch switch, but why would it be intermittant?

HELP!! We were planning on using it for two trips on the upcoming 4 day Thanksgiving weekend.

Thanks,
John
