help!!! map sensor plug

I just went to re install the plug onto the map sensor and the clip wont lock.Its the clip on the harness of oem wiring harness. the map sensor will plug into edge harness so its not the map sensor but that harness wont plug it edge harness either. Anyone ever seen this. I cant win
