engine and tranny overheat problem

does any one have any info on which direction to go to correct the overheat problem,.. truck ran fine until i pulled a load of dirt with my dumptrailer.. now tranny heats up first and then the engine but just when pulling the trailer loaded or empty. .. I have a 99 ram 2500 4x4 5.9 , I have the juice with attidude in the tow mode. I did change the thermostat as it has never been changed, but that didnt help..any info will be greatly appriciated.. thanks
