Lost prime and now truck won't start

I changed my fuel filter and pre filter today. It went pretty easy for being my first time. I did not fill either of the canisters but decided to just prime the system with the primer button. It took a while but soon I had clear fuel coming out tof the bleeder. Truck started up then died, tried again started fine and kept going, Hurray.

Put tools away came back to go for a ride and no start after cranking a long time. Tried bleeding the system again and can't get many bubbles let alone any clear fuel out of the bleeder. I now notice the rubber bulb is cracked on the pump. is this the problem or did I mess up somewhere else?

HELP!
