GEN light???

Okay she ain't down yet but I want to know if I should be watching for something. Had my batteries checked yesterday everything fine, had my starter checked, not fine so I got and installed a new one. Now this morning I fire her up, fine, drive about a minute and the GEN light comes on wind the volt meter is a little about the 14 mark, not in the red zone but higher then normal. What is happening here? Voltage regulator? Loose conections? I kinda need my truck this week so if I can't prevent a break down I want to. Thanks guys for the help.....
