Uh Oh.......fuel issues
2 days ago I installed one of the lift pump replacement kits from ADT with the PE4200 pump and AN-8 lines......My lift pump was dead as a door nail. All was great at 1st but a problem start within about 30-40 miles and has gotten progressively worse within the last 15 miles or so.
It showed up as a spit and sputter when you really got on it with the PM3 (fueling module) turned up on 9, it progressed to the point (all within a few miles) that it will do it with the PM3 on 0 which is stock fueling. Now it also idles rough and when you give it fuel just sitting still it does it and also makes lots of white smoke. So I am not driving it.
I am guessing (hoping) there is air getting in the fuel line back at the tank.....I was not impressed with the fit of the AN-8 line on the elbow on top of the fuel tank nor with hose clamp I used on it........So I guess my question would be is are the symptoms I have described indicative of the lift pump sucking air?
