Oil Pump??

Hello, having a problem with one of my company trucks its a 96 2500 2x4 , automatic, 70,000mi. on it. While returning from a 200 mile trip.. I noticed what I thought was low oil pressure around 15 on the oil pressure gauge but if I eased it down from 70 to 65 the pressure would increase to 20. As I got closer to home and slowed down the pressure continued to rise, until I accelerated from 25m.p.h. to 45m.p.h. at this point it suddenly dropped to 0, I let all the way off the gas and it jumped back to 40 and every other time I accelerated to get back up to speed it would do this, for the last 3 miles I went really slow with 40 p.s.i on the gauge............It sounds like a bad oil pump? or if im lucky a really erratic gauge? any help would be appreciated.
