01 24v low power

Help

I left for work this morning and as I was getting onto highway my truck seemed like it was stuck in 3rd gear.

The truck is a 01 2500 auto w 76k miles all stock. I changed fuel and air filter less than 7,000 ago. The truck was not up to temp ( I live literally a minute form highway). It seemed like the turbo didn't want to spool. I dropped the gear selector into 1st and tried to get it up to speed after about 1/2 mile it then acted fine (seemed back to normal). This afternoon it started no problem and performed as it usually did. Should I bring it to the dealer to see if any codes come up? Should I drive it?
