Air Conditioning

You may not think this is an emergency but with our daily temps runng in the mid-100s, it is to me.

My A/C quit working and the shop just called and said the A/C core in the dash is leaking freon and they want $1,300

to replace it. Anybody had to have this done? What did it cost? Did you do it yourself, if so how big of PITA is it.

1999 Quad Cab 3500 SLT Plus, 4X4, 5-speed. Bright white with agate leather interior. 4" SST Exhaust, BHAF, less one silencer ring. Edge Comp box with Autometer fuel pressure and boost gauges and a two-channel pyrometer for the exhaust manifold and a single channel pyrometer below the turbo.
