Lift pump not lifting

Help please, we are at a RV park in Carson
city NV and have to leave this wed. and now our 98 12v won't start. I had my wife turn it over while i pulled up on the lift pump and it ran fine but as soon as i let go the linkage droped and the engine stoped. When you first hit the starter the linkage pulls up and it runs for about 1/2 second and then the linkage drops and the engine dies. Is this the solenoid or the relay. Thank you Richard
