Truck looses power-MPG

2001 4x4 Auto with EZ chip. 92000 miles (97% freeway) All of a sudden MPG when towing 10,000 pounds went from 12 to 5 (not a typo, I said 5)! Sometimes cruising down the road the engine will just go flat, let off pedal and get back into it it will be fine for another 40 to 50 miles and then it happens again. I need this truck for work. Any help is greatful. Thanks
