How do you like that Granite Crystal Metallic dually on the cover of TDR Issue #116? And what a vista! The cover truck belongs to long-time Turbo Diesel Register member (since 2009) Jerry Rone. And, as you can see by the grandeur of the background, he took this photo at Grand Teton National Park. It was taken during a three week-long, 5,000 mile road trip adventure. Some of the other stops along the way: Mt. Rushmore, Crazy Horse Memorial, Yellowstone National Park, Devil’s Tower National Monument, the Amana Colonies and, he said, an obligatory stop at the Iowa 80 truck stop.

His truck is a 2018 Ram 3500 DRW 4WD with only 20,500 miles on the odometer. (The 5,000 mile road trip represents a huge portion of those miles.) The only notable modifications are the addition of splash guards and a Retrax bed cover. The truck is in mint condition. Jerry said he typically sees 19.5 miles per gallon on the highway. He pulls a 16,000-pound fifth-wheel trailer with it and sometimes he’s pulling a gooseneck trailer with a Bobcat, as needed.

Jerry has been a member of the TDR for over 13 years and has owned a total of four Turbo Diesel Rams. His current truck is known as “The Beast”. We’re grateful he allowed us use of this excellent photo for all to enjoy.

Congratulations Jerry and thank you for being a part of the Turbo Diesel Community!
